Keep or Return? - Maxi for a Mini

Skirt: LOVE, Jumper: H&M, Shoes: Primark

Hi lovely readers!! So I need your help here. I can't decide whether I want to keep this skirt or not. I bought it on a whim from LOVE as they had an offer on. I really liked it in the picture and although it knew it was a maxi skirt (and I'm super short) I thought I'd give it a go. So here it is!

Now I like it in theory, but I can't decide if I like it on me or not. To make sure it's not too long I have to wear it with heels which isn't necessarily practical for my everyday life. I was debating taking it up or giving it a little snip so that I'd be able to wear it with flats but I'm really not sure. I love the asymmetrical hemline and the pattern but I'm still not sure... It feels very 'fashion' to me and is very unlike anything else I own. I do feel quite grown-up and sophisticated in it though!

What do you think? Keep or return?

Well Heeled

Tan lace-up boots: Peacocks (£18), Sparkly Brogues: Primark (£12), Chunky Platforms: Primark (£14)

So I've been on a bit of a shoe-buying frenzy lately. Totally unnecessary, but so worth it. The boots were definitely an impulse buy. I don't normally go in Peacocks but they had a special 20% off student deal and I came out with these! They're not quite so shiny/orange in real life. I think the sparkly brogues are my favourite of the three. Sadly the picture doesn't do the 'sparklyness' justice, but they made me feel christmassy. I got the heels for a ball I have coming up. I was planning to wear some basic black heels and then I realised I didn't have any. Luckily Primark came to the rescue and I found this lovely velvet (you can't tell in the picture) platform heels. They're pretty high by my standards but I've been tottering around the house in them and they're not too uncomfortable!

I'm seriously a shoeaholic. I just can't help buying them, I must have a goos 50 pairs (disgraceful, I know)! Do you love shoes as much as I do? Can you rival my collection (haha)?!

Wishlist feat. Topshop

(All images property of Topshop)

Here are a few lovely things I've spotted on the Topshop website: I need to start spending less time looking at clothes online and more time actually working.  All I want to wear at the moment is black and velvet, I feel so wintery! I love the green coat, it's so adorable and the ribbon is really cute. I also really like the boots with the glittery heel, even if they are a bit tacky. Glitter makes me feel christmassy.

There are now only 3 weeks of the uni term left now, but there's still so much to do, eeek! You think by now I would have learnt how to manage my time, but apparently not. I need less TV, more work!!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend. :)

P.S. I saw Breaking Dawn on Friday. LOVED. IT. (Fangirl!!)

Early Mornin'

Button up: Topshop,
Tights, Floral Blouse, Lace-up wedges: New Look
Skirt: H&M, Rings: Primark

Hello super pose-y pictures! I found a spot in my house with better lighting but there's still a great hulking doorway and mirror in the way. Hmm...!

Anyway I literally had to drag myself out of bed this morning at 8am to go to the gym (not in this outfit obviously) and it was horrific. Students should not be made to rise before 10! Hitting the gym is part of my new 'healthy lifestyle' which I have decided to adopt. You know, healthy food, exercise and all that. We shall see how long this lasts! Ever since I got back from the gym all I've been able to think about is eating a Terry's Chocolate Orange Bar (I'm obsessed lately).

I've been attempting to read for my dissertation too, but sadly german political/colonial theory is not too appealing right now. Luckily I have a good weekend coming up - a few friends are coming down to visit and plans include great activities such as seeing Breaking Dawn Pt.1 (GUILTY PLEASURE) and Nando's. So excited!!

Anyone got anything fun planned for the weekend?

Lego House

Lace top: H&M; Shorts: H&M;
Loafers: New Look; Neckalce: ASOS
Snood: Topshop; Grey Tights: New Look

I've had these shorts lurking in my wardrobe for ages and decided to actually wear them today! They're a slightly thicker, almost corduroy material so they required a bit of cooler weather. I absolutely love them, very cosy and I dig anything with a pattern. I remember seeing them last winter and not buying them because they were too expensive for me at the time. Then I saw them on sale in my local H&M in Germany for €7, so snapped them up! Spent most of today hanging out in the uni library and then went to the gym. Not the most exciting day ever...

Also a bit of a bad hair day today. No matter what I did it would not cooperate, so I clipped back my fringe and just went out a frizzy mess! I also think I look really ill in these pics... Probably the onset of S.A.D or something! There's definitely a chill in the air here, but I've seen the Coca-cola ad on TV and I've had a red cup from Starbucks (not advertising I swear) so Christmas is definitely on its way! (In a commercial sense anyway...) On another note, I reckon these photos are better than the last bunch and hopefully they'll only improve!

Anyway, I'll stop rabbiting on now, I have to get back to my nineteenth century German literature...(cool degree alert!) Have a lovely evening all!

(Excuse the horror of glasses face)

Hello there! Guess what? I dyed my hair! I had been growing out the lighter colour for about 6 months, but got so sick of it being sort of multicoloured/stripey that I decided to dye it a different colour altogether. It's now a sort of reddish-brown colour. Not quite like my natural colour, but I like it! (The fringe is not new. I've had the same hair style for about 5 years, it's just clipped back in the first pic. Really need to update my haircut...) Also, I haven't posted in forever, which is clearly not a good way to get this blog up and running! I've been completely overwhelmed by university and had so much to do. It's definitely hard coming back from a year spent studying abroad. The Erasmus lifestyle is much easier than a lifestyle of a uni finalist. I think I'm finally on top of it all now, and have got myself into some sort of proper working schedule. Now all I have to do is stop playing the Sims on FB and a First will be mine for the taking, haha! (Likely story...)
